The Stress Reduction Alphabet The world we live in can be a very stressful place, and stress can leave us feeling overwhelmed, helpless, depressed, or just plain sick. We can't always control the circumstances that may be causing stress in our lives, but we can control our response to them. By applying the helpful suggestions below we can control the effects of stress and feel better in the process.

The Stress Reduction Alphabet

Accept the things you cannot change.

Breathe deeply when you start to feel anxious.

Channel energy into constructive activities.

Discover ways that are best for you to handle your stress.

Exercise helps to relieve stress.

First things first.

Groups - family, friends, spiritual, can be a primary source of support.

Human - accept your limitations.

Internal - look at how you respond to stress.

Jot down feelings and thoughts.

Kids - take a break from them.

Laughter lifts the spirit and puts difficulties into perspective.

Moderation in all activities helps keep balance.

Negative - switch your thinking to focus on the positive.

Organize your work.

Pray! No problem is to big for God.

Quiet. Be still and listen for God's voice.

Resources - rely on the Lord and those around you for strength.

Spiritual - find your strength in your spiritual way of life.

Time out - take a break.

Use and manage time wisely.

Vulnerable - find someone you trust to share your feelings.

Worrying about problems never brings a solution.

X-rays - get medical attention for illnesses promptly.

Yourself - no one is going to take care of you, but YOU!

Zany - be a little silly. It lifts the spirits.

Remember, Jesus Loves You!
