| Charge to the Pastor
Rev. John Cowan:
Pastor Earl Lassen, having been
called as a minister of Jesus Christ, and having accepted the invitation of North Shore
Baptist Church of Menominee, Michigan, to be their pastor, do you solemnly pledge that you
will serve this congregation to the best of your ability, and in accordance with the
direction given in God's Word?
Pastor Earl Lassen: I do.
Rev. John Cowan: I charge you to be a faithful servant of Jesus Christ,
remembering that like our Lord, you have come "not to be served, but to serve,"
and keep yourself at all times in true devotion to your high calling. Will you seek to
practice daily the faith you profess, administer the ordinances in purity, proclaim the
truth in love, and endeavor to lead this people in the ways of Christ the Lord?
Pastor Earl Lassen: I will, God being my
helper.
Rev. John Cowan: Do you now dedicate yourself to faithfully proclaim Christ
Jesus as Savior and Lord and to urge all to repent and to believe and to follow Him?
Pastor Earl Lassen: I do, by His grace.

the things of Jesus Christ and in our mutual ministry in His name.
Pastor Earl Lassen: I, your pastor, offer to you, my people, the resources of my

to what lies ahead, we press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in
Christ Jesus! Having heard your promise of a covenant commitment to our congregation, and
having expressed to you our promise of covenant commitment, we who are the congregation of
