Why Have You Gone Astray?
-- By Ron Henry --

Why have you gone astray?
Have you asked yourself that today?
It’s Satan’s desire to ruin your life,
to bring you sorrow, pain, and strife.
He works through other peoples’ thoughts
to get you to abandon what you have been taught.
He works as a liar, a sneak and a thief,
to lure you away from your own belief.
He works on your mind to deceive,
just as he did in the garden with Eve.
He will drag you down in the filth and slime,
and leave you there to rot in time.
He draws you away from those who care,
it’s not your loved ones who put you there.
He keeps you from your family and love,
and tries to separate you from the one above.
He drew you down into this dirty mess
and laughs as you struggle with uneasiness.
You know what’s right and wrong in your life today,
but Satan says, "Don’t worry do it anyway."
He’s glad you listened and stumbled and fell,
it’s Satan’s desire you end up in Hell,
Satan fights God with everyone he can deceive,
but we can fight back, we have the Bible to believe.
Praise God almighty the victory has been won,
Satan was defeated by God the Son.
Jesus took care of it on Calvary,
He died on the cross for you and me.
He shed His blood so our sins can be forgiven
and prepared for us an eternity in heaven.
Remember Christ died for you and me.
He has power over Satan and can set you free.
Turn to Christ from your sorrow and shame
don’t let Him have died for you in vain.
